Why your business still needs a real website in 2026

It's easy to run a business today entirely through an Instagram page, a Facebook listing or a booking marketplace profile — and for a while, that can work. But every one of those is a platform you don't control, running on rules and algorithms that can change how visible you are overnight.

A website is the one channel that's entirely yours. Nobody else decides what a visitor sees first, how they're guided toward booking or getting in touch, or whether your business disappears from a feed because an algorithm shifted. Every ad, social post and Google listing you run should point back to it.

It also does something a social profile can't: it signals that a business is real and worth trusting. Before someone commits — to a stay, a purchase, a service — they check. A site that looks deliberate and current answers that question before it's even asked.

None of this means social media or listing platforms don't matter — they do, as ways to reach people. But they work best as roads that lead somewhere solid, not as the destination itself.
